Correct my data during a session
Fix or delete a target run or a behavior record you saved by mistake, before you submit the session.
A mis-tap or a wrong number does not have to stay in the session. While the session is in progress, you can open any saved target run or behavior record in the web app, change it or delete it, without asking your BCBA. The mobile app cannot change a saved run, so corrections happen on the web.
Before you start
- You can correct only sessions assigned to you, and only while they are In Progress. Other aides can open the session but see no edit or delete buttons.
- After you submit, the buttons disappear, unless your clinic lets aides correct submitted sessions.
- You can change every run on the session, including runs your BCBA saved on it.
Correct a target run
Open the session in the web app from My Sessions. Each target on the Data card lists its runs.
- On a target with one run, select Edit Data in its header. On a target with several runs, select its runs badge, for example 2 runs, or the arrow to open the list, then select Edit Run with the number of the run you need.
- The same window you record with opens, titled Edit with the target type and name, and the saved values filled in.
- Change the values and select Save Data. An edit changes the run; it never adds a new one.
A message such as DTT data updated successfully appears and the card reloads. Cancel closes the window; if you changed something, ABACare asks before it throws your changes away.
Runs judged as a pass or fail
How a generalization or maintenance run is corrected depends on how your clinic records them.
- In the Granular mode, a run recorded under a context keeps that context: it shows as a locked label. When you save, ABACare judges the run again against the target's criteria as they are now, and shows the new pass or fail for a moment before the window closes.
- In the Simple mode, a pass or fail opens Edit Binary Result. Pick the other result and select Save. Save stays off until the result differs from the saved one.
- If the context a run was recorded under has been deleted, or the target no longer runs maintenance probes, the window explains that the run can't be changed. Select Cancel to close it.
Correct a behavior record
Behavior records are on the Behavior Records card of the same page.
- Select the pencil on the record. Edit Behavior Record opens.
- For an ABC episode, change the duration, the intensity, the antecedent, the consequence or the notes. For a count or duration summary, change the numbers and the observation time.
- Select Save.
The message Behavior record updated successfully appears. You cannot empty a text field this way: a cleared antecedent, consequence or note keeps its old text.
Delete a run or a behavior record
- Select the bin next to the run, or on the behavior record.
- Confirm with Delete. The window warns that this cannot be undone.
The message Data run deleted successfully or Behavior record deleted successfully appears. A deleted run is gone for good; there is no history to restore it from.
A reward delivery can be deleted but not edited: see Log a reward delivery.
In the mobile app
The mobile app shows your saved runs but has no edit or delete for them, or for ABC episodes. On the phone you can still:
- change the note on a generic target, from its summary (see Write a generic target note);
- save a behavior's count or duration summary again (see Record a behavior count or duration summary).
For anything else, open the session in the web app before you submit.
What happens next
- Your correction replaces the saved data straight away and counts toward the learner's progress on that target.
- Deleting a run recorded under a context changes that context's standing once your BCBA completes the session. The context badges on the page refresh only after your next save or a page reload.
- When you are done, submit the session.
