Breadcrumb: Getting Started
What is ABACare
ABACare is where your ABA clinic plans treatment, runs sessions and follows each learner's progress, on the web and on the phone.
ABACare is where your ABA clinic does its daily clinical work. BCBAs write treatment plans, aides record data during sessions, and parents follow their child's progress and practice at home. Everyone works from the same up-to-date information, so nothing has to be copied between paper, spreadsheets and messages.
Who uses ABACare
Every person in ABACare has one role in one clinic. The role decides what they see and what they can do.
- Org owners set up the clinic, invite the team, add learners and manage billing.
- BCBAs build treatment plans, schedule sessions, review the data and write progress reports.
- Aides run sessions and record data, mostly in the mobile app.
- Parents follow their child's sessions and progress, and log practice at home.
Roles and permissions explains each role in more detail.
How the work fits together
- The treatment plan. A BCBA builds a plan for each learner, with goals and the targets under each goal. A goal can come from the treatment library or be written from scratch.
- Sessions. Sessions are scheduled for a learner, usually with an aide. During the session the aide records data for each target: trials, counts, times or notes, depending on how the target is measured.
- Review. The aide submits the session, and the BCBA reviews and approves it. Along the way the session moves through Scheduled, In Progress, Submitted and Completed.
- Progress. ABACare charts every target over time and checks it against its mastery criteria once a session is completed. BCBAs see what is going well and what needs attention, and write progress reports.
- Home. Parents see their child's sessions and practice at home the targets their BCBA shares with them. The BCBA reviews what they log.
The web app and the mobile app
ABACare has a web app for the browser and a mobile app for phones. You use the same account in both, and what you do in one shows up in the other. The web app and the mobile app explains who uses which.
