Propose a goal or target for the organization library

Suggest a goal or target for your clinic's own library, written from scratch or taken from a learner's plan, and follow whether your org owner approves it.

Applies toBCBA

When you write a goal or target that other BCBAs at your clinic could reuse, propose it for the clinic's own library. You can write the proposal from scratch or send a goal or target you created in a learner's plan. Your org owner reviews each proposal and approves it or not. Once approved, it is in the library for everyone at the clinic to add to their plans.

Before you start

  • You work in the web app, on a paid plan: the clinic's own library is not part of the Free plan.
  • Only BCBAs propose. Org owners add content to the clinic's library directly.
  • A proposal cannot be edited or withdrawn after you submit it, so check it before you send it.

Propose from scratch

  1. Select Library > My Proposals, then Create Proposal. The Create Proposal button on the Organization Library page opens the same window.
  2. Under Content Type, pick Goal or Target.
  3. Pick the Domain and the Subdomain where it belongs in the library.
  4. For a target, type the Goal Name it belongs under. On approval, the target goes under the clinic's goal with that name, which is created if there is none.
  5. Fill in the Name and, if you want, the Description.
  6. For a goal, you can tick Parent can practice this goal and write Parent Instructions.
  7. For a target, pick the Target Type and fill in its Mastery Criteria, including Count different days under the count when the criterion is in days. A generic target has none. A task analysis needs at least two named steps.
  8. Select Submit Proposal.

If something is missing, the field shows a message such as Name is required or Subdomain is required for library placement, and nothing is sent.

Propose from a learner's plan

You can propose goals and targets you created in a plan yourself, not ones added from the library. The plan must be Active.

  1. Open the learner's plan and the Goals tab.
  2. Choose what to propose:
    • a goal, in the card view: select the star icon on the goal's card (Propose to Org Library);
    • a target, in the card view: open the target's menu and select Propose to Org Library;
    • a goal or a target, in the table view: open the row's menu and select Propose to Org Library.
  3. Propose to Org Library opens, filled in from the plan, and for a target with its measurement and mastery settings, Count different days included. It goes in the same subdomain as its goal in the plan, and a target keeps its goal's name.
  4. Adjust the name, description and settings, and select Submit Proposal.

After you submit

The message Proposal submitted appears and the proposal joins the top of My Proposals, with its Name, Type, Target Type, Submitted date and Status: Pending until your org owner reviews it, then Approved or Not Approved.

Follow your proposals.

If the clinic's subscription no longer includes its own library, the message reads Organization library requires a paid subscription and nothing is sent.

What happens next

  • Your org owner sees a count of pending proposals in their menu. They can adjust the content before approving it.
  • You are not notified of the decision. Check My Proposals.
  • A Not Approved proposal shows no reason, and you cannot edit or withdraw it. Ask your org owner why, or send a new, corrected proposal.
  • An approved proposal is in the Organization Library at once, and you can add it to any plan: see Add goals and targets from the library. The learner's plan you proposed from does not change.
  • For a goal, the library keeps its name, description and subdomain. Whether parents can practice it, and the parent instructions, are not carried over.
  • Nothing stops the same goal or target from being proposed twice.
