View my child's progress

See how your child is doing on each goal, which skills they have mastered and how many sessions they had, in the web app.

Applies toParent

ABACare sums up your child's progress for you: a level and a percentage for each goal of their treatment plan, the skills they mastered recently, and a count of their sessions. It is a summary. The detailed data therapists record in each session stays with the clinic. You see the progress in the web app; the mobile app does not show it.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the web app. See Sign in and sign out.
  • Your child's BCBA writes the treatment plan: the goals your child works on and, under each goal, its targets, the specific skills that make it up. Until the plan has goals, there is little to show.

Open your child's progress

There are two ways in.

  • When you sign in, the web app opens on a welcome page. My Children has a card for each child with their age and their BCBA. Select a card.
  • Select Dashboard in the menu. Progress Snapshot has a row for each child with a summary, such as 2 of 5 goals mastered, or No goals yet, and a small bar for each of their first three goals. Select a child's row.

With more than one child, each child has their own card and row: select the child you want.

Read the progress report

Progress Report shows your child's name and three cards.

  • Overall Progress lists each goal with a level, a percentage and a bar. The percentage is the share of the goal's targets your child has mastered. A goal your BCBA has marked as mastered shows 100%. The levels follow the percentage: Not Started at 0%, Learning up to 25%, Progressing up to 60%, Almost Mastered up to 90% and Mastered above that. A goal with no targets yet shows 0% at Learning once work on it has started, and Not Started before that.
  • Recent Milestones lists the targets your child has mastered, newest first, with their goal and a date, up to ten. Until there is one, it shows No milestones yet.
  • Session Summary shows Total Sessions, Completed, This Month and Avg Duration, and a calendar of the current month. A green day had a completed session. Point at a day to see how many sessions it had.

Good to know

  • The 3 Months, 6 Months and 1 Year buttons do not change what the page shows yet.
  • Overall Progress covers your child's current treatment plan. Recent Milestones also lists skills from earlier plans.
  • A milestone's date is the last time the clinic changed that target. It is usually, but not always, the day your child mastered it.
  • Total Sessions and This Month count every session, including upcoming and cancelled ones. Avg Duration is the average planned length of completed sessions.
  • In the calendar, a day with only other sessions, such as upcoming or cancelled ones, has its own color, which the legend does not list. Days with sessions (this month) under the calendar counts only days with a completed session.
  • If something cannot load, Failed to load analytics data appears and the cards stay empty. Try again later, or ask your clinic.

What happens next

The levels change when your BCBA marks targets as mastered. What you log at home does not change them by itself: your BCBA reviews it and decides.
