Comment on session photos and videos

Leave feedback on the photos and videos an aide attached during a session, on a whole photo or at a moment in a video.

Applies toBCBAOrg Owner

Aides can attach photos and short videos to a target during a session. When you review the session, you can comment on each one: what went well, what to change. A photo comment covers the whole photo. A video comment points to a moment in the clip, or is general. The aide who attached the media is told about your comments once the session is completed.

Before you start

  • You comment in the web app, on the session's page. To find a session, see Review and complete a submitted session. The mobile app shows comments but cannot add them.
  • The session must be In Progress, Submitted or Completed. Org owners comment the same way.
  • A target shows its Media strip only when it has data or a target note in the session.

Comment on a photo

  1. Under the target, select a photo in the Media strip. The photo opens beside its Comments, oldest first, or No comments yet.
  2. Type in Add a comment. A comment can be up to 1000 characters.
  3. Select Add comment.

The message Comment added. appears and the comment joins the list, marked You.

Comment on a video

  1. Select a video in the Media strip. The video opens with a bar under the player and the Comments beside it.
  2. Play the video to the moment you want and select + Comment. The video pauses and the time is filled in as minutes and seconds.
  3. Change the time if needed, or tick General (no timestamp) for a comment about the whole clip.
  4. Type the comment and select Save. Cancel closes the box.

A marker appears on the bar. General comments come first in the list, then the others in the order of the clip. Select a comment or a marker to jump to its moment. Enter a time within the clip. means the time is not written as minutes and seconds.

Warning
Closing the photo or video, with the close button, Esc or a click outside it, throws away a comment you have not saved.

Edit or delete a comment

  • Select the pencil on a comment, change the text and select Save. Comment updated. appears and the comment is marked (edited). The time of a video comment cannot be changed; delete the comment and add a new one instead.
  • Select the bin and confirm with Delete in Delete comment?. Comment deleted. appears.

You can edit and delete your own comments. Org owners can edit and delete anyone's.

What happens next

  • When the session is completed, the aide who attached the media gets one notification for the session, for example New feedback on 1 item in Ethan's session. Comments you add before that notify nobody until then.
  • A comment added after completion sends a new notification only if the aide has already read the earlier one. Edits and deletions never notify.
  • Comments do not show who wrote them. Only your own are marked You.
  • On a completed session the strip shows This session is completed — media is read-only. That means no one can attach or delete media. You can still comment.
  • The media on a target's details page opens read-only: comment from the session's page.
  • For the aide's side, see Review feedback on session media.
