View my child's approved hours

See how many therapy hours an insurer or another payer approved for your child, how many are used and when they expire, when your clinic shares them.

Applies toParent

Therapy is often paid for by an insurer or another payer that approves a number of hours for a period of time. The clinic records this as an authorization. When your clinic shares them, you can see for each child how many approved hours are used, how many are left and when they expire. You see them in the web app; the mobile app does not show them.

Before you start

  • Your clinic decides whether parents see approved hours. It stays off until the clinic's owner turns it on: see Configure authorization settings. If there is no Approved Hours card on your Dashboard, your clinic does not share them.
  • The clinic records the authorizations. You can read them here but not change them.

See the approved hours

  1. Select Dashboard in the menu.
  2. Select the Approved Hours card: "See how many approved therapy hours each child has used and how many are left."
  3. Approved Hours has a section for each child. Each current authorization shows:
    • who pays, such as Insurance or School, when the clinic picked one;
    • the hours used out of the hours approved, for example 12h 30m of 40h approved hours used;
    • the hours left, for example 27h 30m left, or All approved hours used;
    • Expires on and the last day of the authorization.

A child with no current authorization shows No information to show here yet.

Good to know

  • Only current authorizations show. Expired, completed and cancelled ones do not.
  • The hours used never show more than the hours approved, even when more sessions took place.
  • The hours used come from your child's sessions, counted the way your clinic has set up.
  • The page stays blank while it loads, if it cannot load, and if your clinic does not share approved hours. Reload it later, or ask your clinic.
  • While your clinic shares approved hours, you also get an email when an authorization is ending soon or nearly used up.
